We also take an additional vial of blood to use during the surgery to apply PRP treatment.

Preparation

In preparation for the surgery, our nurses guide you into a changing room so you can change into a surgical gown. Then, the donor area of the head is shaved with an electric trimmer to make all hair strands the same height. After shaving, you're guided into the operating room for the administration of anesthesia.

Operation

We apply 2 rounds of local anesthesia: First, we apply a small dose with Dermojet Needleless Syringes, which are painless. When the painless application takes effect, we apply the proper dose of local anesthesia on the scalp.

We begin extractions on the donor area. We use a low-speed, modified micro-motor extraction tool to harvest the hair grafts. The modified device creates the least amount of stress on the donor area, allowing us to extract perfectly healthy grafts and helping the donor area heal faster. We keep the grafts in HypoThermosol® solution at 4° C (39.2° F).

After the grafts are harvested, our doctor creates incisions on the recipient area for the Sapphire FUE procedure. These incisions are placed deliberately to aim for the density you desire and the direction your hair grows in for the natural result. We apply PRP treatment to increase the healing potential. We carefully place the grafts inside these incisions.

For DHI, incisions are not needed, and the hair can be directly transplanted with a Choi Pen.

Once the transplant is complete, you get dressings and instructed on the healing process.

Post-op recovery & First Wash

1 day after the operation, we do a follow-up to see your condition and change your dressings.

2 days after the operation, one of our nurses gives you your first hair wash in the clinic. You're given instructions on how to care for your hair and scalp in the following weeks, along with products you should use.
